The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) and the visiting University City Centurions (San Diego, CA), observed Helix's basketball team knock off University City by a score of 49-41.

The Highlanders (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Olympian (Chula Vista, CA). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 6-5 record. In their last challenge, Olympian was knocked off by Madison (San Diego, CA), 66-53, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Centurions encounter the Lincoln Hornets (San Diego, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. University City will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 43-40 non-league loss to Crawford (San Diego, CA).
