With the triumph, Mercedes moves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Tigers host Donna (Donna, TX) to meet the Redskins in a 5A Region 4 District 32 test on Friday, January 10. The Redskins come into the test with a record of 0-2. Donna lost 4-1 in their recent non-league test against San Benito (San Benito, TX)

The Gators now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cigarroa for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 7.
