Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Comeaux Spartans (Lafayette, LA), 61-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Barbe upgrades its record to 16-8 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA) to play the Broncos in a 5A District 3 bout on Friday, February 3. The Broncos come into the bout with a record of 12-9. Sam Houston won 47-42 in their recent league bout against Lafayette (Lafayette, LA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA) in a 5A District 3 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Comeaux will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record.
