The Fitchburg Red Raiders basketball team scored 56 points and restricted the visiting North Middlesex Regional Patriots to 49 in the Red Raiders non-league victory on Monday.

The Red Raiders now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shrewsbury for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 31. Fitchburg will battle a Colonials team coming off a 52-48 league loss to Wachusett Regional (Holden, MA). The Colonials record now stands at 3-8.

With the defeat, North Middlesex Regional moves to 2-10 on the year. The Patriots host Westborough (Westborough, MA) to meet the Rangers in a Midland-Wachusett B match on Tuesday, January 31. The Rangers enter the match with a record of 4-8. Westborough lost 61-53 in their recent non-league match against Oakmont Regional (Ashburnham, MA)
