Mountain Valley Falcons (Rumford, ME) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Boothbay Seahawks (Boothbay Harbor, ME), 48-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mountain Valley upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Falcons travel to Carrabec (North Anson, ME) to play the Cobras in a non-league bout on Friday, February 3. The Cobras go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Carrabec won 57-28 in their recent league bout against Boothbay (Boothbay Harbor, ME)

Next up, the Seahawks play the Carrabec Cobras (North Anson, ME) in a C South bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Boothbay will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Cobras go into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 65-63 league loss to Hall-Dale (Farmingdale, ME).
