The Gillespie Miners basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting South Fork Ponies to 44 in the Miners non-league victory on Monday.
The Miners now sport a 15-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Staunton for a South Central contest on Thursday, February 2. Gillespie will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 58-48 non-league win over Calhoun/Brussels (Hardin, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 21-6.
The Ponies (15-11) will now prepare for their contest against Ramsey (Ramsey, IL). The Rams come into the non-league contest with a 3-16 record. In their last contest, Ramsey prevailed over Lebanon (Lebanon, IL), 66-36, in a non-league contest.
