In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting Calhoun City Wildcats basketball team scored a tight 61-54 triumph over the Shannon Red Raiders.
In their next game, the Wildcats meet the Water Valley Blue Devils (Water Valley, MS) in a 2A Region 2 match, on Thursday, February 1. Calhoun City will attempt to move on its 16-8 season record.
With the defeat, Shannon moves to 11-8 on the year. The Red raiders travel to Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS) to meet the Braves in a 4A Region 1 match on Wednesday, January 31. The Braves enter the match with a record of 10-13.
