The Newton Local Indians basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Dixie Greyhounds to 36 in the Indians league triumph on Tuesday.

The Indians now sport a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Preble Shawnee for a Western Ohio contest on Friday, February 2. Newton Local will meet a Arrows team coming off a 72-37 non-league win over Carlisle (Carlisle, OH). The Arrows record now stands at 15-2.

The Greyhounds (8-9) will now prepare for their contest against Twin Valley South (West Alexandria, OH). The Panthers enter the Western Ohio contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Twin Valley South ran past Yellow Springs (Yellow Springs, OH), 61-50, in a non-league contest.
