The Steele Comets basketball team scored 72 points and restricted the host Elyria Catholic Panthers to 68 in the Comets non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Comets now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Avon Lake for a Southwestern contest on Friday, February 2. Steele will battle a Shoremen team coming off a 59-39 non-league win over Bay (Bay Village, OH). The Shoremen record now stands at 8-7.

The Panthers (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against Open Door Christian (Elyria, OH). The Patriots come into the non-league contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Open Door Christian was nudged by Benedictine (Cleveland, OH), 71-63, in a non-league contest.
