In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting Hankinson Pirates basketball team scored a decisive 64-42 triumph over the Maple River Eagles.
In their next game, the Pirates meet the Barnes County North co-op [North Central/Wimbledon-Courtenay] Bison (Rogers, ND) in a B District 1 match, on Friday, February 2. Hankinson will attempt to move on its 12-2 season record. The Bison enter the match with a 11-5 record after their 62-51 league win over Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] (Rosholt, SD).
With the defeat, Maple River moves to 16-18 on the year. The Eagles host Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (Waterville, MN) to meet the Buccaneers in a AA Section 2 match on Tuesday, January 30. The Buccaneers enter the match with a record of 8-8. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown won 65-57 in their recent non-league match against Hayfield (Hayfield, MN)
