South Dakota High School Basketball - Jones County can't hold off Sully Buttes

January 30, 2024: Onida, SD 57564

The Sully Buttes Chargers basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Jones County Coyotes to 53 in the Chargers non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Chargers now sport a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] for a B Region 6 contest on Friday, February 2. Sully Buttes will battle a Battlers team coming off a 57-42 league win over Lyman (Presho, SD). The Battlers record now stands at 8-5.

The Coyotes (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Leola/Frederick (Leola, SD). The Titans come into the non-league contest with a 14-1 record. In their last contest, Leola/Frederick edged Warner (Warner, SD), 49-36, in a league contest.
