Metro Academy Mavericks (Shawnee Mission, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Paseo Academy of Performing Arts Pirates (Kansas City, MO), 73-68 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Metro Academy upgrades its record to 15-10 on the season. The Mavericks travel to Varsity Opponent (, ) to clash with the in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The go into the bout with a record of 342-1240. Varsity Opponent lost 104-75 in their recent league bout against Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix, AZ)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Winnetonka Griffins (Kansas City, MO) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Paseo Academy of Performing Arts will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Griffins go into the bout with a 14-4 record after their 71-33 non-league win over Excelsior Springs (Excelsior Springs, MO).
