The Monroe Hornets tipped the host Northwest Knights basketball team by a final score of 78-71 in Tuesday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Hornets face the Ross Rams (Hamilton, OH) in a Southwestern Buckeye - Southwestern game, on Friday, February 2. Monroe will attempt to move on its 8-9 season record. The Rams enter the game with a 6-11 record after their 51-38 non-league loss to East Central (St. Leon, IN).

With the defeat, Northwest moves to 10-7 on the year. The Knights travel to Mt. Healthy (Cincinnati, OH) to face the Fighting Owls in a Southwest Ohio game on Friday, February 2. The Fighting Owls enter the game with a record of 3-14. Mt. Healthy lost 79-58 in their recent non-league game against Hughes (Cincinnati, OH)
