Assumption Mustangs (Napoleonville, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Morgan City Tigers (Morgan City, LA), 43-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Assumption upgrades its record to 11-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to East Iberville (St. Gabriel, LA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 19-8. East Iberville won 64-44 in their recent league bout against Ascension Catholic (Donaldsonville, LA)

Next up, the Tigers play the White Castle Bulldogs (White Castle, LA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Morgan City will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 17-11 record after their 64-56 non-league win over Assumption (Napoleonville, LA).
