Holmen Vikings (Holmen, WI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host River Falls Wildcats (River Falls, WI), 53-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Holmen upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Vikings host Aquinas (La Crosse, WI) to clash with the Blugolds in a Mississippi Valley bout on Thursday, February 1. The Blugolds go into the bout with a record of 16-3. Aquinas won 68-29 in their recent league bout against La Crosse Logan (La Crosse, WI)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Menomonie Mustangs (Menomonie, WI) in a Big Rivers bout, on Thursday, February 1. River Falls will attempt to upgrade on its 9-9 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 17-3 record after their 73-50 league win over Eau Claire North (Eau Claire, WI).
