Pine Eagle Spartans (Halfway, OR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Pilot Rock Rockets (Pilot Rock, OR), 36-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Pine Eagle upgrades its record to 6-15 on the season. The Spartans travel to Wallowa (Wallowa, OR) to clash with the Cougars in a 1A Old Oregon bout on Friday, February 2. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 14-8. Wallowa won 50-9 in their recent league bout against Cove (Cove, OR)

Next up, the Rockets clash with the Ione/Arlington Cardinals (Ione, OR) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Pilot Rock will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 43-36 league loss to South Wasco County (Maupin, OR).
