The Avon Pirates basketball squad (Avon, SD), was crushed 67-32 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Gregory Gorillas (Gregory, SD)

With the victory, Gregory advances its record to 11-2 on the year. The Gorillas host Jones County (Murdo, SD) to clash with the Coyotes in a non-league outing on Friday, January 31. The Coyotes come into the outing with a record of 5-9. Jones County lost 53-44 in their recent non-league outing against Lyman (Presho, SD)

The Pirates (1-11) will now prepare for their outing against Freeman (Freeman, SD). The Flyers come into the B Region 4 outing with a 9-3 record. In their last outing, Freeman routed Scotland/Menno (Menno, SD), 73-37, in a non-league outing.
