South Dakota High School Basketball - Boyd County defeats Burke

January 30, 2025: Burke, SD 57523

The Boyd County Spartans (Spencer, NE) basketball were winner over the host Burke Cougars (Burke, SD), 57-37 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Spartans now possess a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to Elgin/Pope John for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 1. Boyd County will play a Wolfpack team coming off a 62-49 non-league loss to Humphrey-Lindsay (Humphrey, NE). The Wolfpack record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Burke falls to 0-12 on the campaign. The Cougars host Tripp-Delmont/Armour (Armour, SD) to play the Nighthawks in a non-league bout on Friday, January 31. The Nighthawks go into the bout with a record of 5-6. Tripp-Delmont/Armour lost 47-45 in their recent league bout against Centerville (Centerville, SD)
