In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Mandeville Skippers basketball team scored a good 60-45 triumph over the Glen Oaks Panthers.
The Skippers (19-15) will now prepare for their contest against Hammond (Hammond, LA). The Tornadoes go into the 5A District 6 contest with a 18-7 record. In their last contest, Hammond topped Covington (Covington, LA), 44-26, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Parkview Baptist Eagles (Baton Rouge, LA) in a 3A District 6 contest, on Friday, January 31. Glen Oaks will attempt to better on its 15-27 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 19-8 record after their 56-53 league loss to University Lab (Baton Rouge, LA).
