Orcas Island Vikings (Eastsound, WA) fans went home pleased Thursday as they observed their basketball team knock off the visiting Lopez Lobos (Lopez, WA), 60-43 in a non-league challenge.
The Vikings (5-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Granite Falls (Granite Falls, WA). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 7-9 record. In their last challenge, Granite Falls dropped by Cedar Park Christian (Bothell, WA), 55-51, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Lobos encounter the Grace Academy Eagles (Marysville, WA) in a 1B Northwest challenge, on Friday, January 31. Lopez will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 74-33 league loss to Lummi (Bellingham, WA).
