In Thursday's league test, the Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) basketball squad trounced the visiting Mountain Valley Falcons (Rumford, ME), by a score of 66-27.

Next, the Phoenix encounter the Dirigo Cougars (Dixfield, ME) in a non-league test, on Monday, February 3. Spruce Mountain will attempt to improve on its 15-2 season record. The Cougars come into the test with a 9-8 record after their 54-53 non-league loss to Valley (Bingham, ME).

The Falcons (3-16) will now prepare for their test against Mount Abram (Strong, ME). The Roadrunners come into the non-league test with a 15-2 record. In their last test, Mount Abram bounced Madison (Madison, ME), 66-37, in a league test.
