The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Weeping Water Indians (Weeping Water, NE) and the host Sterling Jets (Sterling, NE), observed Weeping Water's basketball team overcome Sterling by a margin of 57-39.

The Indians (5-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Falls City (Falls City, NE). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 0-16 record. In their last challenge, Falls City dropped by Auburn (Auburn, NE), 77-25, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Jets battle the Lewiston Tigers (Lewiston, NE) in a D2 District 1 challenge, on Friday, January 31. Sterling will attempt to better on its 3-12 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 59-29 non-league loss to Pawnee City (Pawnee City, NE).
