Illinois High School Basketball - Trico overwhelms Shawnee

The Trico Pioneers basketball team scored 64 points and limited the host Shawnee Redskins to 29 in the Pioneers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Pioneers now have a 13-6 record. They play next when they travel to Sesser-Valier/Waltonville for a Black Diamond - West game on Saturday, February 1. Trico will confront a Red Devils team coming off a 35-28 league win over Johnston City (Johnston City, IL). The Red Devils record now stands at 17-4.

With the loss, Shawnee falls to 12-5 on the campaign. The Redskins travel to Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton (Elkville, IL) to confront the in a South Egyptian game on Wednesday, February 5. The go into the game with a record of 6-16. Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton won 45-29 in their recent non-league game against Pope County (Golconda, IL)
