Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Valor Preparatory Academy Owls (Concord, NC), 64-27 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Union Academy advances its record to 16-0 on the year. The Cardinals host Albemarle (Albemarle, NC) to face the Bulldogs in a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley match on Friday, January 31. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 13-4. Albemarle won 68-9 in their recent league match against South Stanly (Norwood, NC)
The Owls now own a 1-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Piedmont Community Charter for a 1A Metro 8 match on Friday, January 31. Valor Preparatory Academy will face a Patriots squad coming off a 55-13 league win over Carolina International (Concord, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 12-6.
