With the victory, Newark upgrades its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Central Crossing (Grove City, OH) to play the Comets in a Ohio Capital - Buckeye bout on Friday, February 3. The Comets come into the bout with a record of 5-14. Central Crossing lost 45-40 in their recent non-league bout against Hamilton Township (Columbus, OH)

Next up, the Vikings play the Liberty Union Lions (Baltimore, OH) in a Mid-State - Buckeye bout, on Friday, February 3. Teays Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 14-7 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 73-42 non-league win over Elgin (Marion, OH).
