Windham Whippets (Willimantic, CT) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT), 47-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Windham upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Whippets travel to Stonington (Stonington, CT) to play the Bears in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 2. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 5-9. Stonington won 66-20 in their recent non-league bout against Putnam (Putnam, CT)

Next up, the Lions play the Tourtellotte Tigers (North Grosvenordale, CT) in a Eastern Connecticut - 4 bout, on Thursday, February 2. Wheeler will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 3-9 record after their 45-32 non-league loss to Montville (Oakdale, CT).
