West York Area Bulldogs (York, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Spring Grove Rockets (Spring Grove, PA), 70-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West York Area upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to New Oxford (New Oxford, PA) to clash with the Colonials in a York-Adams 2 bout on Friday, February 2. The Colonials go into the bout with a record of 9-10. New Oxford lost 56-54 in their recent league bout against Susquehannock (Glen Rock, PA)

Next up, the Rockets clash with the Red Lion Lions (Red Lion, PA) in a York-Adams 1 bout, on Friday, February 2. Spring Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 7-6 record after their 72-47 non-league win over Cocalico (Denver, PA).
