High School Basketball - Varsity Opponent thwarted by Eno River

The Varsity Opponent basketball team (, ), was toppled 30-13 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Eno River Bobcats (Hillsborough, NC)

The Bobcats now possess a 11-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Excelsior Classical Academy for a 1A Triangle North battle on Friday, February 2. Eno River will confront a Flying Lions team coming off a 26-13 league win over Henderson Collegiate (Henderson, NC). The Flying Lions record now stands at 2-12.

The (111-396) will now prepare for their battle against New York School for the Deaf (White Plains, NY). The Golden Tornadoes come into the Section 1 Freelance battle with a 12-4 record. In their last battle, New York School for the Deaf beat Education First International Academy (New York, NY), 65-26, in a non-league battle.
