In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Steele Comets basketball team scored a good 58-42 triumph over the Westlake Demons.
In their next game, the Comets meet the Avon Lake Shoremen (Avon Lake, OH) in a Southwestern match, on Friday, February 2. Steele will attempt to better on its 10-8 season record. The Shoremen enter the match with a 16-3 record after their 50-38 non-league win over Rocky River (Rocky River, OH).
With the defeat, Westlake moves to 9-8 on the year. The Demons host Bay (Bay Village, OH) to meet the Rockets in a Great Lakes match on Saturday, February 3. The Rockets enter the match with a record of 7-11. Bay won 49-29 in their recent league match against Valley Forge (Parma Heights, OH)
