In Friday's non-league contest, the host Cherokee Chiefs basketball team scored a good 46-26 triumph over the Canton Tigers.
The Chiefs (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against Medford (Medford, OK). The Cardinals go into the non-league contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Medford was toppled by Timberlake (Helena, OK), 55-43, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Tigers confront the Burlington Elks (Burlington, OK) in a non-league contest, on Monday, February 3. Canton will attempt to better on its 3-16 season record. The Elks go into the contest with a 5-11 record after their 83-48 non-league loss to Deer Creek-Lamont (Lamont, OK).
