The McGregor Mercuries basketball team scored 53 points and limited the host Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars to 30 in the Mercuries non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mercuries now possess a 6-12 record. They play next when they host South Ridge for a A Section 7 game on Friday, February 7. McGregor will play a Panthers team coming off a 80-69 non-league loss to Moose Lake/Willow River (Moose Lake, MN). The Panthers record now stands at 11-7.

With the loss, Hinckley-Finlayson falls to 4-18 on the campaign. The Jaguars host East Central (Sandstone, MN) to play the Eagles in a non-league game on Monday, February 3. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 15-6. East Central won 72-36 in their recent non-league game against Hinckley-Finlayson (Hinckley, MN)
