In Friday's league contest, the visiting Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts basketball team scored a close 56-54 triumph over the Rantoul Eagles.

The Grey Ghosts (10-14) will now prepare for their contest against Princeville (Princeville, IL). The Princes go into the non-league contest with a 16-4 record. In their last contest, Princeville was tipped by Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL), 52-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles confront the Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, February 1. Rantoul will attempt to better on its 9-12 season record. The Comets go into the contest with a 8-15 record after their 65-40 non-league win over Grant Park (Grant Park, IL).
