The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA) and the host Meridian Trojans (Bellingham, WA), observed Mount Vernon's basketball team edge Meridian by a margin of 43-36.

The Bulldogs (12-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Blaine (Blaine, WA). The Borderites come into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge with a 4-11 record. In their last challenge, Blaine was tipped by Ferndale (Ferndale, WA), 57-25, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Sedro-Woolley Cubs (Sedro-Woolley, WA) in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Meridian will attempt to better on its 12-6 season record. The Cubs come into the challenge with a 8-10 record after their 80-32 league loss to Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA).
