In Friday's league contest, the host Newell-Fonda Mustangs basketball team scored a big 66-33 triumph over the South Central Calhoun Titans.
The Mustangs (13-2) will now prepare for their contest against Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (Ruthven, IA). The Titans go into the Twin Lakes contest with a 9-10 record. In their last contest, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire smashed East Sac County (Lake View, IA), 55-40, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Titans battle the Southeast Valley Jaguars (Gowrie, IA) in a Twin Lakes contest, on Tuesday, February 4. South Central Calhoun will attempt to better on its 7-10 season record. The Jaguars go into the contest with a 1-17 record after their 59-16 league loss to Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (Ruthven, IA).
