Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting United South Panthers (Laredo, TX), 73-66 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Martin upgrades its record to 9-16 on the season. The Tigers travel to Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX) to clash with the Patriots in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout on Friday, January 14. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 1-13. Mission Veterans Memorial won 54-49 in their recent non-league bout against Jubilee Brownsville (Brownsville, TX)
Next up, the Panthers clash with the Eagle Pass Eagles (Eagle Pass, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 30 bout, on Friday, January 7. United South will attempt to upgrade on its 11-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 14-14 record after their 68-65 non-league loss to Martin (Laredo, TX).
