The East Poinsett County Warriors (Lepanto, AR) basketball nipped the host Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR), 54-50 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Warriors (5-8) will now prepare for their test against Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR). The Greyhounds go into the 2A Region 3 test with a 10-7 record. In their last test, Marmaduke was tipped by Bay (Bay, AR), 61-46, in a league test.
The Bobcats now own a 4-7 record. They play next when they host Cave City for a 3A Region 2 test on Saturday, January 7. Walnut Ridge will encounter a Cavemen squad coming off a 73-31 non-league loss to Greene County Tech (Paragould, AR). The Cavemen record now stands at 3-8.
