The Falls Lake Firebirds basketball team (Creedmoor, NC), was nudged 60-56 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Oxford Prep Griffins (Oxford, NC)

The Griffins now possess a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Vance Charter for a 1A Conference 11 battle on Friday, January 6. Oxford Prep will battle a Knights team coming off a 61-50 league win over Eno River (Hillsborough, NC). The Knights record now stands at 5-5.

The Firebirds (5-7) will now prepare for their battle against Clover Garden School (Burlington, NC). The Grizzlies come into the non-league battle with a 2-13 record. In their last battle, Clover Garden School was nudged by Eno River (Hillsborough, NC), 58-40, in a non-league battle.
