North Carolina High School Basketball - Polk County edges Madison

The Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), 56-50 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Wolverines (4-7) will now prepare for their test against Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Warhorses go into the non-league test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Owen got by Rosman (Rosman, NC), 70-45, in a league test.

The Patriots now own a 3-11 record. They play next when they host Avery County for a 1A/2A Conference 42 test on Friday, January 6. Madison will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 67-61 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 8-5.
