The Mt. Pleasant Oilers basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Traverse City West Titans to 34 in the Oilers non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Oilers now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lapeer for a non-league contest on Friday, January 6. Mt. Pleasant will battle a Lightning team coming off a 43-40 non-league loss to Oxford (Oxford, MI). The Lightning record now stands at 1-4.

The Titans (3-5) will now prepare for their contest against Gaylord (Gaylord, MI). The Blue Devils enter the Big North contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Gaylord ran past Lake City (Lake City, MI), 56-33, in a non-league contest.
