Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Towanda Black Knights (Towanda, PA) and the host Sullivan County Griffins (Laporte, PA), saw Towanda's basketball squad hold off Sullivan County by a tally of 49-46.

With the victory, Towanda improves its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Black Knights travel to Wyalusing Valley (Wyalusing, PA) to play the Rams in a Northern Tier challenge on Friday, January 6. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 2-5. Wyalusing Valley lost 57-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Sullivan County (Laporte, PA)

Next up, the Griffins play the Benton Tigers (Benton, PA) in a Midd-Penn challenge, on Saturday, January 7. Sullivan County will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 53-21 non-league loss to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional (Coal Township, PA).
