Jefferson Orange Wave (Brooklyn, NY) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Canarsie Chiefs (Brooklyn, NY), 97-82 in a league bout.

With the win, Jefferson upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Orange Wave travel to Brentwood (Brentwood, NY) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Sunday, January 7. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 5-0. Brentwood won 67-61 in their recent non-league bout against Southampton (Southampton, NY)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Boys & Girls Kangaroos (Brooklyn, NY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Canarsie will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Kangaroos go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 58-50 league loss to South Shore (Brooklyn, NY).
