The Spruce Mountain Phoenix basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Mountain Valley Falcons to 39 in the Phoenix league victory on Thursday.

The Phoenix now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oak Hill for a B South contest on Saturday, January 6. Spruce Mountain will clash with a Raiders squad coming off a 72-35 non-league loss to Mount Abram (Strong, ME). The Raiders record now stands at 1-5.

Next up, the Falcons clash with the Boothbay Seahawks (Boothbay Harbor, ME) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Mountain Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Seahawks go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 81-51 non-league loss to Maranacook (Readfield, ME).
