Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Ocean Township Spartans (Oakhurst, NJ), 54-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Point Pleasant Beach upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Garnet Gulls travel to Lacey Township (Lanoka Harbor, NJ) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 3-3.

Next up, the Spartans play the Hunterdon Central Red Devils (Flemington, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Ocean Township will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Red Devils go into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 52-50 non-league loss to Watchung Hills Regional (Warren, NJ).
