Rockford Warriors (Rockford, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Tripoli Panthers (Tripoli, IA), 63-53 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Rockford upgrades its record to 4-6 on the season. The Warriors travel to North Butler (Greene, IA) to play the Bearcats in a Corn Bowl bout on Friday, January 5. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 2-7. North Butler lost 70-34 in their recent non-league bout against West Fork (Sheffield, IA)
Next up, the Panthers play the Riceville Wildcats (Riceville, IA) in a Iowa Star bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Tripoli will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 5-7 record after their 56-55 non-league win over Northwood-Kensett (Northwood, IA).
