The Classical Purples basketball team scored 60 points and held the host East Providence Townies to 51 in the Purples non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Purples now sport a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cumberland for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 9. Classical will battle a Clippers team coming off a 84-23 non-league loss to Cranston East (Cranston, RI). The Clippers record now stands at 0-2.

The Townies (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Central (Providence, RI). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Central was defeated by La Salle Academy (Providence, RI), 63-47, in a non-league contest.
