Sedro-Woolley Cubs (Sedro-Woolley, WA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Blaine Borderites (Blaine, WA), 51-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Sedro-Woolley upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Cubs host Lakewood (Arlington, WA) to clash with the Cougars in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout on Monday, January 8. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Lakewood lost 74-53 in their recent league bout against Sehome (Bellingham, WA)

Next up, the Borderites clash with the Squalicum Storm (Bellingham, WA) in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout, on Saturday, January 6. Blaine will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Storm go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 58-25 league win over Anacortes (Anacortes, WA).
