Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks (Hartley, IA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Unity Christian Knights (Orange City, IA), 40-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Harris-Lake Park (Lake Park, IA) to play the Wolves in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 4-7. Harris-Lake Park lost 49-28 in their recent non-league bout against George-Little Rock (George, IA)

Next up, the Knights play the West Lyon Wildcats (Inwood, IA) in a Siouxland bout, on Friday, January 5. Unity Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record.
