The Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Newton Local Indians to 35 in the Blackhawks league triumph on Thursday.

The Blackhawks now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Arcanum for a Western Ohio contest on Saturday, January 6. Mississinawa Valley will battle a Trojans team coming off a 46-32 league loss to Tri-Village (New Madison, OH). The Trojans record now stands at 8-3.

The Indians (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Carlisle (Carlisle, OH). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 5-7 record.
