The Pike County Pirates topped the host Salem Seminoles basketball team by a final score of 54-45 in Thursday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Pirates face the Mary Persons Bulldogs (Forsyth, GA) in a AAA Region 2 game, on Tuesday, January 9. Pike County will attempt to move on its 7-2 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 13-3 record after their 79-31 non-league win over Howard (Macon, GA).
With the defeat, Salem moves to 1-10 on the year. The Seminoles travel to Hephzibah (Hephzibah, GA) to face the Rebels in a AAA Region 4 game on Friday, January 5. The Rebels enter the game with a record of 2-6. Hephzibah lost 57-41 in their recent non-league battle against Aquinas (Augusta, GA)
