The Independence 76ers basketball team scored 35 points and held the visiting Mt. Pleasant Cardinals to 32 in the 76ers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The 76ers now sport a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Live Oak for a contest on Tuesday, January 9. Independence will meet a Acorns team coming off a 28-23 non-league loss to El Camino (South San Francisco, CA). The Acorns record now stands at 1-3.

The Cardinals (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Gunderson (San Jose, CA). The Grizzlies enter the contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Gunderson was nudged by Del Mar (San Jose, CA), 31-9, in a non-league contest.
